Bohemian Coding's Sketch looks really interesting and not bloated. I will be keeping a really close eye on that app. It does not make sense for Adobe to be charging this much for software this bad. To all developers of vector applications, it's time to make all your means to give us a true alternative to Illustrator, regardless of your price, it will still be much less than the Adobe racket!
Noivad Jun 19 I have used Illustrator since the mids — before blends were a click away, and you had to create 2 layers. So, I know this software inside and out. But despite all that, avoid Adobe Applications if you can. Their products used to work, but now they are just work.
I eventually had to jury rig it into place myself, thanks to a bit of understand of what files were blocking me from running the app. But every launch the App complains that my install is damaged and that I need to reinstall it.
It still likes to crash randomly, so save often. I have decided to look for something else, after the current project I purchased it for is complete. Even their supervisor told me to make my library writable to everyone. This is the last time I ever purchase anything from Adobe, I think there is a huge market for a more user friendly and competent vector program because Adobe has abandoned its users because they can as long as people still buy their products.

Today, if you are a professional you have to use Illustrator if you like it or not and pay a premium price to do so. Unfortunately Adobe is gotten very greedy and it is using its financial power to strengthen a monopolistic position without offering any real benefits to its customers. Paying that kind of money for over bloated software which is still - after all these years - very slow at basic things like redrawing and saving complex files I sincerely hope that a developer eventually will come up with a viable alternative that also works in a professional environment.
